CrossFit Movements and Standards

CrossFit is a precise combination of exercise and nutrition that has been proven to increase fitness and health for people of all ages and abilities. CrossFit is founded on the first scientifically rigorous definition of fitness: The program produces observable results that can be measured and replicated.

Yes, absolutely. Our coaches will guide you the whole way, and we run an induction programme to teach you the movements that we use to make up CrossFit. The most important thing is that we make it as safe as possible for you.

Absolutely not. We have members from 4 – 70+. CrossFit can be scaled to suit any age or fitness level. Anyone of any age can get fitter and stronger. Whether it’s making the stairs easier, lifting the shopping or you want to be the next World Champion, CrossFit Tonbridge / TAG can help make you a fitter and stronger version of yourself.

The Crossfit Programme is “Constantly Varied”, literally the first words of CrossFit’s methodology description. Meaning using an indefinite amount of movements through all plans, all time domains, all energy systems and regularly changing movements.

Yes! Everyone can do CrossFit. From the young to the old, from the unfit to the seriously fit, carrying an injury or not the programme can be modified to each person to help them become fitter and healthier. At CrossFit Tonbridge and TAG at Sevenoaks we have members from 4 to 70+ years old, all getting faster, fitter and stronger with us.

Each session lasts an hour, and typically consists of a warm-up, a strength or skill section, then a WOD and finally a stretch / cool-down.

No! Whatever your current fitness level is, CrossFit will help you get fitter. As you get fitter the programme and your training will develop to keep challenging you to continually progress.

Whether you’re looking to compete at a sport or CrossFit, or just get fitter to play with the kids in the park or make lifting the shopping bags easier the broad fitness programme that CrossFit offers will help. CrossFit was developed to enhance an individual’s competency at all physical tasks. People who do CrossFit are prepared for all challenges, whether they come in the gym, on a playing field or as part of daily life

All the workouts can be ‘scaled’ that is to say adjusted for anyone of any ability. Whether it’s through injury or whilst you’re building strength and fitness all the workouts can be scaled so that members of all abilities  can train side by side doing a very similar workout.

Our coaches will always be happy to help you.

Nothing! Turn up in comfortable clothing that you’re happy to do a workout in and ideally some water and you’re good to go. As you do more CrossFit, you may choose to invest in some (or all) of the following:

  1. Skipping rope.
  2. CrossFit trainers – options from all the major brands, Nike, Reebok, Inov8 etc
  3. Weightlifting shoes – give a heel lift and add stability for heavy lifts
  4. Mobility tools – foam roller + lacrosse ball; will help your mobility
  5. Other lifting supports; squat belt, wrist wraps etc.

No. We have lots of flexible options. From buying a single class to month by month memberships. We think that you’ll want to keep coming so there’s no tie in on any membership; you can email us at any time to cancel it and we’ll stop it at the end of the month that you’re in.

Results! By turning up to a class you’ll no longer spend the time wandering around the gym wondering what you’re going to do today. You’re signing up to a specific programme, with daily sessions and skilled coaching. Deliver yourself to the class and we’ll make sure you get a great workout. If you don’t enjoy it, you’re free to leave at the end of the month you’re in.
